A Consistent Routine for Your Neck
The neck is frequently treated as an afterthought in standard skincare. While focus remains fixated on the face, the thin skin covering the cervical region is often ignored during cleansing, hydration, and moisture-sealing steps. By extending your existing routine downward, you create continuity in texture and tone.
This practice does not require new products or elaborate tools. Instead, it relies on a shift in manual application technique and a commitment to vertical consistency.
- Extend your cleanse. Begin your evening routine by cleansing your face and continuing the product downward to the collarbone. Use gentle, circular motions to remove debris from the neck surface. Rinse with lukewarm water, ensuring no residue remains in the creases of the skin.
- Apply toner or essence. If you utilize a toner or liquid essence, press the product into the neck skin using a flat palm rather than dragging a cotton pad. This pressing motion ensures the skin absorbs the product without unnecessary tugging. Cover the front and sides thoroughly.
- Distribute serum. Dispense an extra pump of your preferred serum specifically for the neck. Using upward strokes starting from the base of the neck toward the chin, apply the serum to encourage a feeling of tension. Allow the product to settle for sixty seconds before proceeding.
- Seal with hydration. Apply your primary facial moisturizer to the neck as well. Use both hands to sweep the product from the center of the neck outward toward the ears. Ensure the perimeter near the hairline and the collarbone is adequately coated.
- Lock with protection. During morning hours, incorporate your daily protection into this routine. Apply a sufficient amount to cover the entire throat area, blending slightly past the collarbone. This completes the protective layer against external elements.
The neck is not a separate entity; it is a continuation of the surface you already maintain.
