How to Layer Body Oil and Perfume
Apply body oil to damp skin first, let it absorb for 2-3 minutes, then apply perfume to pulse points for maximum longevity and depth.
Most people spray perfume on dry skin and wonder why it disappears—oil creates the foundation your fragrance needs to actually perform.
- Start with damp skin. Apply body oil immediately after showering while skin is still slightly damp. The water helps lock in moisture and creates a smooth base for fragrance layering.
- Use the press method. Warm oil between palms and press into skin rather than rubbing vigorously. Focus on areas where you'll later apply perfume—wrists, neck, behind ears.
- Wait before perfume. Let the oil absorb for 2-3 minutes until skin feels soft but not slick. This prevents the perfume from sliding off and ensures proper adherence.
- Apply perfume strategically. Spray or dab perfume on the same pulse points where you applied oil. The oil acts as a base that helps perfume molecules cling and develop properly.
