How to Choose a Gym Fragrance
Pick a light, fresh fragrance with citrus or aquatic notes that won't overwhelm in close quarters.
Most people overthink this—a good deodorant does more work than any fragrance at the gym.
- Start with spray strength. Choose eau de toilette or lighter concentrations over parfum. You want something that dissipates quickly rather than lingering for hours in a shared space.
- Focus on fresh note families. Citrus, aquatic, and light green notes work best. They smell clean without competing with natural body chemistry during exercise.
- Apply minimally to pulse points. One spray to wrists or behind ears maximum. Heat from exercise will amplify whatever you wear, so less is definitively more.
- Test during actual movement. Spray it on before a walk or light activity at home. Fragrance changes when your body temperature rises and you need to know how it performs.
