How to Build a Weekly Foot Routine
Soak, exfoliate, moisturize, and maintain - your feet need the same attention as your face.
Your feet carry you everywhere - treating them like an afterthought is like ignoring your foundation garments.
- Start with a warm soak. Fill a basin with warm water and soak for 10-15 minutes to soften skin and cuticles. Add epsom salts if your feet are tired or swollen.
- Exfoliate dead skin. Use a pumice stone or foot file on damp skin, focusing on heels and balls of feet. Work in gentle circular motions - aggressive scrubbing creates more calluses.
- Clean and trim nails. Cut nails straight across, then file corners to prevent ingrowns. Push back cuticles with an orange stick while they're still soft from soaking.
- Moisturize thoroughly. Apply a thick foot cream or body butter, massaging from toes to ankles. Pay extra attention to heels and any dry patches.
- Protect overnight. For extra hydration, apply a heavy cream before bed and wear cotton socks. Your feet repair themselves while you sleep.
