How to Care for Your Earlobes
Clean daily with gentle soap, moisturize regularly, and give your ears breaks from heavy jewelry.
Most people ignore their earlobes until something goes wrong, but they show age and neglect just like any other skin.
- Clean morning and night. Wash earlobes with your regular cleanser during your face routine. The skin here is thin and accumulates oil, makeup, and hair products throughout the day.
- Moisturize the skin. Apply a small amount of your face moisturizer to your earlobes after cleansing. This prevents dryness and keeps the skin supple, especially important if you wear earrings frequently.
- Rotate your jewelry. Give your earlobes rest days from heavy earrings. Constant weight stretches the piercing holes and thins the surrounding skin over time.
- Clean your earrings. Wipe earrings with rubbing alcohol before wearing. Dirty jewelry introduces bacteria and can cause irritation or small bumps around the piercing.
