How to Body Scrub at Home
Mix coarse salt or sugar with oil, scrub in circular motions from feet up, rinse with warm water.
Most people scrub too often and too hard, then wonder why their skin rebels. Less is more elegant.
- Choose your base. Sea salt works best for rough areas like elbows and heels, sugar for sensitive skin. Mix with enough oil to create a paste that holds together but isn't dripping.
- Start from the bottom. Begin at your feet and work upward in firm circular motions. This helps circulation and prevents pushing dead skin down your body.
- Mind the pressure. Use firm pressure on thick-skinned areas like knees and elbows, lighter touch on delicate spots like inner arms. Your skin should feel stimulated, not raw.
- Rinse properly. Use warm water to remove all scrub particles completely. Follow immediately with a rich moisturizer while skin is still damp to lock in hydration.
