How to Layer Bath Oils Into Your Routine
Layer bath oils by starting with dry brushing, adding 2-3 drops to running water, then sealing with body oil on damp skin post-bath.
Most people use ten times too much oil and wonder why their skin feels greasy instead of soft.
- Prep Your Skin. Dry brush your body before running the bath to remove dead skin cells. This creates a smooth canvas that absorbs oils more effectively and prevents patches.
- Add Oil to Running Water. Drop 2-3 drops of bath oil under the running faucet, not into still water. The agitation disperses the oil evenly instead of creating a slick that sits on top.
- Keep It Brief. Limit your soak to 10-15 minutes maximum. Longer exposure to hot water strips natural oils from your skin, defeating the purpose of the oil treatment.
- Pat and Seal. Exit the bath and gently pat skin until just damp, not bone dry. Apply a thin layer of body oil while skin is still slightly wet to lock in moisture and create a protective barrier.
